Anime Song: Sorosoro Ikanakucha : Honey and Clover (Suga Shikao)
I first heard about Suga Shikao when he sang "19sai" (the opening song for xxxHolic). Had it not been for Honey and Clover, I wouldn't know that he had a lot of other wonderful songs.
My sister was raving a lot about the anime "Honey and Clover" and I simply had to see why she thinks it's worth seeing. Sure enough, I got hooked on it. I think one of the biggest plus factors of this anime is the abundant amount of beautiful insert songs.
It was definitely hard to choose only one song to talk about because I have a lot of favorites but "Sorosoro Ikanakucha" (or roughly..."I have to go now") is special to me because it was my very first favorite Hachikuro song so this one left a big impression on me.
Suga Shikao's voice has nothing special on it. It might even sound weird because he's got this raspy voice (that made me remark that he needed a lot of Strepsils) that make him sound like an old man. But later on, I got used to his style and I even liked it. (By the way, Suga Shikao is quite old already yet he's got this perpetually young-looking face ala Laruku's Hyde, hahaha). His face was slightly used as the basis for Mayama's character image. ^_^
"Sorosoro Ikanakucha" was used as an insert song in the 13th episode of Honey and Clover. The song is overall relaxing and easy to listen to. A perfect lounging song, lol.
